For those of you who are interested, here’s a little bit about me…
My Career Journey
I have been an educator for over 20 years.
I started my career as a Hospitality Teacher in further education and also ran my own pub, restaurant and B & B. Recognising my natural ability to motivate people, I decided to return to study. I studied practical psychotherapeutic interventions, helping people with stress, anxiety and depression to cope in their lives.
Why do I want to help you?
I’m an everyday person just like you, maybe the only difference is that I have a passion for supporting people to overcome the challenges they face and that’s my superpower!
I’ve worked with a bereavement charity as a volunteer grief counsellor and found it a privilege to help people through life-changing situations learn to manage their stress around grief and loss.
What drives me?
I often come across people who are struggling to deal with repeating patterns in their lives such as relationship issues, burnout, feeling stuck or lacking confidence. Being a naturally caring person, I listen, find out people’s strengths and use tools and techniques to help people move forward in a way that’s comfortable for them.
Why do I love what I do?
My stress links back to early loss. Losing my mum at a young age led to a repeating pattern of stress-inducing high achievement and then loss through burning out.
I chose to educate myself on the root causes of stress and this has empowered me to take control, recognising how the brain works and what the mind and body links are which has helped me. I can help you do the same.
How am I qualified?
As a Psycho-therapeutic Counsellor and Certified Hypnotherapist, I offer talking therapy and a variety of evidence-based techniques to help people develop safely.
With safety in mind, I have a fully insured practice and am a member of the National Counselling and National Hypnotherapy Societies. This means that I adhere to their code of ethics, engage in clinical supervision and continue to develop professionally.
